Vencová, Barbora
Introduction: The arrival of a child with multiple disabilities (MD) in a family is a difficult situation. Increased stress of parents of (MD) is often related to the non-fulfillment of the needs, leads to frustration and deprivation that can result in serious health problems. The aim is the subjectively defined and described life with a child (MD), focusing on the needs of these parents resulting from the daily care of the child. Aim: Identify, describe and analyze the needs of parents of children with MD at an early age. Methods: Qualitative approach using the biographical narrative method. The research design is a case study. Methodological triangulation: three methods of collecting data: biographical curve, in-depth interview, Cantril's ladder. Results: all cases were compared with each other. 12 parents' needs were identified. The Cantril's ladder method found significantly unmet needs: Need for rest and Need for medical care. Conclusion: The main contribution of the work is to understand the individuality and needs of parents of children with multiple disabilities, as a possibility to provide purposefully individualized early intervention, to streamline the process of planning, implementation and evaluation of provided care and thus contribute to the quality of life of the whole family.
Comprehensive care for children with multiple mental and physical disabilities
Zikl, Pavel
Comprehensive care for children with multiple disabilities (combination of mental and physical disabilities) Pavel Zikl The main topic of my work is comprehensive care for children with multiple disabilities (combination of mental and physical disabilities). The theoretic-methodical part is aimed at used terminology, estimated number of such pupils in our schools and at comprehensive care/rehabilitation. Main stress is put on medical rehabilitation and the possibility of using it at schools (methods of medical rehabilitation used at schools, positioning). In the second part results of research work connected with education and comprehensive care for children with mental and multiple disabilities are presented. They are two separate pieces of research connected together with different methodology used in each of them. The first one is a quantitative research (description and analysis of education of pupils with mental and multiple disabilities integrated in common schools). The second one is a qualitative research (analysis and comparison of education of children with multiple disabilities in special and common schools). The summary and a discussion are at the end of the work.

This thesis deals with the special pedagogical support to upbringing and education of children with the condition of dysgenesis corpus callosum. In order to achieve a complex approach and view of the problematic I am first describing the nature of the disability. Later on in the thesis I am then over viewing different approaches and concepts of education for children with the condition of combined disability. However, the key part of my theses is a casuistry of a young girl suffering from dysgenesis corpus callosum and I am analyzing how her education was and is influenced by her special education teachers.
